I also found this git mentioning the issue with ntfs support: https://github.com/storaged-project/udisks/pull/917 which is where the original solution pulled the answer to fix it from. Oddly enough, by default I didn't run into this issue when I was using Gnome just a week prior, which is why I thought it may be something with KDE specifically.
