Algorithms are mostly copy paste, and visualizing sounds a lot cooler than it is impressive. No hate tho -

API calls is how these 2 connect. Here's an example of a random (backend) API I just found rn: https://github.com/wh-iterabb-it/meowfacts So when you go to https://meowfacts.herokuapp.com/ (where the backend is hosted) you get a random cat fact back as a json. A hypothetical frontend would be a some pretty looking React site with a button where you could click it and generate a new cat fact.
