Viable Evernote alternatives?

  A fully open source & end-to-end encrypted note taking alternative to Evernote.

  

I find that Notesnook has potential as a clone of Evernote. It claims to be a more privacy focussed and secure then Evernote. But it is just as expensive with a lot less features and the free plan is like a barebones demo (max 5 tags, 3 notebooks and no rich text editing). Though it does have a roadmap and active discord.

Obsidian is a markdown, local storage and very fast note taking app. Though it lacks rich text editing and requires markdown knowledge and even more scripting/coding knowledge if you want to take full advantage. After trying Obsidian for 6 month it made me appreciate the simplicity of Evernote a lot more!
