Privacy Badger is a browser extension that automatically learns to block invisible trackers.

Project mention: Datenschutz und Anonymität im Internet - (einfache) Empfehlungen für jedermann | reddit.com/r/de | 2021-07-18

Why not Privacy Badger? Privacy Badger is another privacy focused browser extension maintained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. I worked for the EFF on the project full time for 6 months, and found that its current privacy benefits to be limited. Adding new privacy protections was difficult, or impossible with the current architecture. And the project maintainers were not interested in fixing these issues. Comparisons with other anti-tracking projects can be found here.

  • GitHub repo ipfs-companion

Browser extension that simplifies access to IPFS resources on the web

    Project mention: Subdomains for IPFS | news.ycombinator.com | 2021-06-28

That is correct. If you have the IPFS Companion[0] browser extension installed then it can automatically recognize URLs of this form and rewrite them to use your local IPFS node instead of the public ipfs.io gateway. The advantage of using https://ipfs.io/ipfs/... in your links instead of ipfs://... is that the former still works even if the visitor doesn't have the extension installed.

I don't have a wide knowledge of FOSS speech synthesizers, but one related FOSS application I can recommend is Read Aloud. It is a browser extension for Chrome/Firefox that can use both FOSS synthesizers and external proprietary ones. You can expand voices by installing more local voices. You can for free use their "Basic" voices or pay a small fee for some of their Premium voices (if you pay for premium, as I did for 1 USD, you will get free additional characters every month. I am currently sitting with more characters than I started with). You can alternatively give API keys for Google Cloud, AWS, or IBM. If you want more quality voices.

Just unzip this into the Firefox install folder, then extract these files, the plugin manager, the plugin and it's files into your chrome folder where your .css files are, then go to about:support and click 'Clear startup cache'.
