I am trying to autoload the emmet-preview-mode when I open a html file but my method doesn't seem to work
I imagine you use this plugin, as this is what is linked from the official site. As the minor mode for preview is not autoloaded, you need to require emmet in your hook, as described in the repo, e. g. add (require 'emmet-mode) before enabling preview in the hook. In addition, in your comment emmet starts with the capital letter. Are you sure in the code it is written right?

Trying to setup a drop down menu while i type any code just like in vs code but none of the methods in Google seem to be working how do i do this please help me
I've never heard of Emmet, but https://www.emmet.io/ says "Emmet is a plugin for many popular text editors" and points to https://github.com/smihica/emmet-mode for Emacs, so I presume your question is about making company mode work with emmet-mode? Maybe?

Is there some website or tracker of unmaintained or abandoned, yet important and popular packages, such that the community could help out? For example emmet-mode is actively seeking a new maintainer: https://github.com/smihica/emmet-mode
