    There's a similar project from a year ago (wdomirror), but I only noticed it after I already finished my first implementation. wdomirror is less code and does not use EGL, which makes it slightly more lightweight, but it does not support setting a scaling mode (linear vs nearest vs exact), does not preserve aspect ratio, and does not set a buffer scale, which makes it look blurry on outputs with scale greater than 1.
