Flatpak 1.15.0 is released, bringing support for League of Legends (and other games that require modify_ldt to be working) emulation through Wine inside the sandbox, among other things
Theoretically, you can do either a Winepak / winepak-x86_64 or a PrismLauncher/FFXIVLauncher/a-certain-game-launcher release of LoL to give it a Flatpak release.

I built a custom lutris wine build with a patch that allows you to play Soldiers: Heroes of World War II!
You can make a flatpak game-bundle using winepak

flatpak Wow64 wine-6.0
Good, but I've been spoilt by flatpak sanboxed bundles which are consistent and portable and can be installed and run on the fly. https://github.com/fastrizwaan/winepak-x86_64

Call for testing: BLOCK (Unofficial)
I would like to announce a call for testing for the unofficial BLOCK snap. BLOCK is a brick-breaking game by KENTA(22) that features a satisfying block-breaking experience including but not limited to flying block particles' physical emulation. It is released in 2000 as Windows freeware and is brought to Linux via the WINE compatibility layer, the Sommelier Core Scripts, and Snaps.

Looking for learning resources
I'm not sure whether this is relevant for you, but Snap is not too bad either and they have actively maintained sources for Wine apps. You could use sommelier as a base (read the README).
