Wine 7.0 released.
You might be interested in winapps - it uses a Windows VM in the background (via KVM) but displays your Windows apps seamlessly using RDP, so it looks like they're running on your Linux desktop. The best part is that it integrates with the shell and creates file associations, so you could use your DE's application menu/launcher to open the Windows app, or open say a Word document via Nautilus and have it open up in Word.

So long Microsoft. Linux becomes the logical next step in curbing corporate greed and their hold on gaming (probably)
BTW if you're on Arch or Manjaro you might want to use this fork instead.
