If it was closed source or if you are ultra paranoid there is plenty more you can do for safety
e.g.
- run the code in a disposable VM
- run the code one step at a time, maybe in debug mode, or a Jupyter notebook for example
- Looking for Open source project to get involved in.

Or you could just use a Udemy Auto enroller. It grabs some paid courses that are currently free automatically. I've gotten some $200 courses sometimes. Not all are useful but still free.
