Why is there hype around Module Federation
So to conclude, I see the value proposition of Module Federation. It fits right into the build toolchain since its a part of Webpack. The configuration required is little and the learning curve is non existent. It does not seem to require any drastic changes to the codebase. If you are interested in trying out Module Federation hands-on, I have a demo available here - Module Federation with Webpack5
What are some alternatives?
nativescript-dev-webpack - A package to help with webpacking NativeScript apps.
hel - A module federation SDK which is unrelated to tool chain for module consumer. 工具链无关的运行时模块联邦sdk.
universal-module-federation-plugin - Versioned remote module manager based on npm and module-federation
mocker-api - mocker-api that creates mocks for REST APIs. It will be helpful when you try to test your application without the actual REST API server.
module-federation-react - Implementando la Federación de Módulos en React: Una guía paso a paso
dynamic-host-module-federation - An environment-agnostic, federated host that consumes remote applications dynamically.
webpack - A bundler for javascript and friends. Packs many modules into a few bundled assets. Code Splitting allows for loading parts of the application on demand. Through "loaders", modules can be CommonJs, AMD, ES6 modules, CSS, Images, JSON, Coffeescript, LESS, ... and your custom stuff.
aegis-host - This is the ÆGIS federated application host. Federated components are independently deployable, written by multiple teams in multiple languages, and loaded from multiple repos and network locations at runtime, yet capable of running together in a single process or as distributed components in the ÆGIS application fabric.
micromesh - This is an Micro-frontend platform for runtime integration and orchestration of widgets using React and Webpack module federation.
