w2c2 VS jerryscript

For AOT, the simplest approach, that actually produces the fastest native code, is to naively translate WASM opcodes to C.

Using a modified version of the w2c2 wasm->C89 translator, I was able to run Rust code on 9front!

There's not much data in the performance section of the front-page readme of the repo, but the one bullet point there seems promising:

JerryScript

Some IoT platforms use Duktape and JerryScript as their engines.

I've been having a lot of fun with https://kalumajs.org/ recently for silly JS embedded things. It's been great so far, and has a cool little community!

I personally quite like JerryScript

Based on JerryScript, the creators also provide an IDE and serial communication tool on their website. There's also ample documentation and guides. Looking forward to getting more into this.
