I’ve been using this light theme:https://github.com/rakr/vim-one

"set background=light" improves, as well as ruins themes.
I'd also recommend "one": https://github.com/rakr/vim-one

Qn: How to download and use colorschemes from Github?
Completely new to linux and coding here. So recently I am learning C language in Vim using Linux Ubuntu. But the black background is quite uncomfortable to me, maybe too used to the white backgrounds in iphone (I've never use darkmode too haha). I went to search for some ways to change the colors, and stumbled across this github website https://github.com/rakr/vim-one which has a pretty decent colorscheme. But I have literally 0 clue from how to download it to opening and using it in vimrc. My terminal is a fresh terminal with nothing downloaded. Ubuntu is ver 18.04.

Yet Another One Dark theme with 5 color variant styles to choose
Looks cool! I would love airline support, you can see how vim-one achieves that here: https://github.com/rakr/vim-one/blob/187f5c85b682c1933f8780d4d419c55d26a82e24/autoload/airline/themes/one.vim

Why doesnt the comment color change if I edit the "gray" hex. Replaced with "red" atm just to see if editing line 578 is the correct line to change comment color. vim8, gruvbox theme, vim-plug. Thanks!!
You can "inherit" the terminal's colorscheme. :h cterm-colors. An example vim colorscheme that uses this: https://github.com/jeffkreeftmeijer/vim-dim

Vim Color Schemes
I achieve that same consistency with virtually zero configuration by simply setting the colors in my terminal and forgetting about it. Stopped all the fiddling with color schemes quite a while ago.

Vim themes that exclusively use the 16 terminal colors?
I already know about noctu and dim, but they are still too busy for my taste and use weirdly chosen colors. Are there any more?

What's your favourite Fonts and Themes?
