Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.

Good plug-in for inserting snippets?
For me, it had a drawback of requiring Python to work, which wasn't always available on Vim instances I use, thus I needed a Vim script solution. I currently maintain a fork of miniSnip.
