I feel like I'm missing another one or two but you get the idea. Due to the nature of this environment I can't consider the use of WASP which sounds like it could potentially work.

Switching to Java app running in IE doesn't get focus
I've looked at some other things --- WASP seemed promising: https://github.com/mavaddat/wasp --- but when I installed the version from GitHub it didn't seem to have the commands I needed.
