Ask HN: Can you help with IANA, + RFC and ABNF?
I'm working on standardizing a data exchange format and media time, and seeking advice here from anyone experienced with how to do this.
For example, how to properly submit a request to Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA.org), or Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF.org), and proofread the Augmented Backus-Naur Form (ABNF).
The project is Unicode Separated Values (USV) and media type is "text/usv".

Funnily enough, I published a Python library two days ago that uses emojis to indicate where certain non-msgpackable builtin types have been forced into msgpackable objects: https://github.com/umarbutler/persist-cache/blob/main/src/pe...
is used for tuples, for sets, for frozen sets, for pickles, for bytes and for bytearrays.
I thought it was pretty ingenious but clearly I’m not the only one to think of it.
What are some alternatives?
