Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

I think I could significantly speed up User Pinger by using async PRAW to send all the ping messages concurrently but I don't really understand how to embed an asynchronous task within a larger synchronous function
Yeah, in this case probably the only reason I didn't get hacked was because the example config file I have publicly online doesn't include the mistake I made
It was the result of people saying that they had a difficult time clicking on the links before. I can change it any time, because now the bot uses proper text templating 😌
That's what I'm thinking. I already have the API grabbing data from Reddit to determine whether someone is a mod, so it wouldn't be much additional work to return the comments of a thread as a JSON object
For user_pinger_2 I define a list of "recoverable errors" and have the bot run in a while True loop that restarts if it throws one of those. See the bottom of this file. Those are Reddit-side errors, but you could presumably add specific client side ones if you know which are safe
