What's wrong with my Go installation on Ubuntu 22?
I use the update-golang script to install or update Go on Linux Mint and it has always worked.
-
After struggling to install Go using asdf for vscode on macOS I decided to document the entire process
On my WSL2 install I was using gvm before, now I'm using https://github.com/udhos/update-golang, you can specify versions and it caches the downloads, so you can switch between versions using the script. Since it uses the 'official' install process, it works as expected most of the time (I had a couple issues with gvm, for example).

Go 1.19.4 is out now
Using a script really reduces the friction. I like this one which seems to just follow the instructionsa: https://github.com/udhos/update-golang
- Go Linux/Debian users which is the apt command to install Go via terminal?
- Which is the linux distro with most updated (latest stable) packages in their repositories?
- Should I use Debian 10 Golang version or download from binary ?

GPU passthrough via thunderbolt
That's exactly what I do. I use this way and works perfectly. https://github.com/andre-richter/vfio-pci-bind
-
Kernel oops (null ptr dereference) when passing through PCI USB
Before booting the VM, I bind the card to vfio_pci using andre-richter/vfio-pci-bind.
-
PCIe card will not bind to vfio
I just have unbinding/binding vfio a shot and it works perfectly. I used the script from here https://github.com/andre-richter/vfio-pci-bind

vfio - A script for easy pci and usb passthrough along with disks, iso's and other useful flags for quick tinkering with less of a headache. I use it for VM gaming and other PCI/LiveCD/PXE/VM/RawImage testing given the script's accessibility.

gvm - Go Version Manager (gvm) enables seamless installing and swapping between Go versions with a single command. This tool manages a Go environment for the user by allowing a user to specify which Go version they wish to use and handling all of the steps to install and configure that Go version. GVM also supports installing Go from the official Golang master branch so that you can easily try the next version of Go without waiting for a pre release build.
