Think I'll stay here for a while (with budgie)
Switched from Arch because KDE Wayland session works on NVIDIA flawlessly (probably because of this https://github.com/void-linux/void-packages/pull/40777 ). Everything I need is in the repos (except Ungoogled Chromium which I get from https://github.com/DAINRA/ungoogled-chromium-void ), and OctoXBPS is just awesome. Thanks to all maintainers and contributors.
- How do you go about installing packages not in the Packages page?
- is there a reason for ungoogled chromium not being in the repos?
-
Since theres no i686 binary of ungoogled chromium I compiled it myself on a 2007 laptop. Heres 3 weeks of compiling!
There are in releases here :) https://github.com/DAINRA/ungoogled-chromium-void

Best way to run glibc compiled games?
That's what voidnsrun is for. Once you get it set up properly, it's very convenient.
-
glibc 2.34
Thanks! Compiled it succesfully. Now I'll try using it via https://github.com/gch1p/voidnsrun.

Replace musl install with glibc without reintall
if you need glibc for some software, you could just use a chroot! (also check before if your soft isnt avalaible on flatpack) see this https://docs.voidlinux.org/installation/musl.html?highlight=chroot#glibc-chroot (also if you're lazy https://github.com/gch1p/voidnsrun )
