- Any downside to using Bootstrap in WordPress?

How can I create a Single Post Template for a blog without paying any theme or builder for their premium features?
A free theme that I like is Understrap (https://understrap.com/). It has single post templates. You can easily customize the templates in a child theme. I believe most themes have single post templates but Understrap's php is easy to modify, along with the html and css.

is underscores still a good start theme
They got bought out in 2021, not a good idea. e.g. https://github.com/understrap/understrap/issues/1258

I'm a full stack developer, and I feel stuck with Wordpress/Woocommerce!
I really like Understrap for a starter theme (https://understrap.com/). Using a child theme it's possible to create custom page and post templates, add widget areas, and so forth. It's free, both theme and child theme, and uses Bootstrap 4 framework.

How to simply convert any HTML template into a WordPress theme in under 10 minutes
There are out-of-the-box solutions that we can use to create a bare-bones WP theme, that only has a basic skeleton. Some of the places where we can create such themes are Underscores, UnderStrap, and Bones.

Is there a easier way to add submenu items?
I'm a developer, so I tend to start from a really blank slate. https://understrap.com/ https://underscores.me/ https://www.wordpressify.co/

I know CSS, Javascript and React, what's the easiest way to build my wordpress site?
I like using Understrap theme as my base (https://understrap.com/). The theme uses Bootstrap 4 as its framework. It's easy to change/add css to get what I want. Creating custom page templates is easy. Adding widget areas is easy. Modifying or adding to the php code isn't hard. The theme is free as is the child theme.

Wordpress starter/skeleton theme?
I recommend, https://underscores.me/ or https://understrap.com/ Personally I don't like Elementor or any theme that has a bunch of build in editing tools and such.

Ask HN: WordPress vs. Django/Flask?
Hey there!
Using Django or Flask might be overkill for what you're trying to do. I suggest you to stick with WordPress, but check out the Sage/root style over at https://roots.io/sage.
It's not the classic WordPress; it's a modern, more secure version.
Also only use plugins when you absolutely have to, and if you do, stick with the pros (i.e. Gravityforms).
I've used WP alot (more than 1000s of websites) and I'm also using Python with Flask and FastAPI (but never used Django).

How do I convince my boss to use Next.js and Storyblok as headless CMS instead of WordPress for clients?
If you do ultimately end up having to build in WordPress I'd recommend checking out sage. https://roots.io/sage/

How are you developing websites, that allow your typical non-developer change the content?
Well, WordPress keeps moving towards drag n drop / visual editing and that makes everything more complicated for people who just want a system to manage data. There are people out there who have invested a ton of time to try and bridge the gap between the direction of wordpress and modern templating features like Sage by Roots (https://roots.io/sage/)

What are some alternatives?
_s - Hi. I'm a starter theme called _s, or underscores, if you like. I'm a theme meant for hacking so don't use me as a Parent Theme. Instead try turning me into the next, most awesome, WordPress theme out there. That's what I'm here for.
