how to automate repetitive tasks after a fresh install of Ubuntu (or any other distro)
Look into "linux post install scripts" or "ubuntu post install scripts", there are guides online on how to make them using bash. [Here](https://github.com/snwh/ubuntu-post-install/blob/master/data/gsettings.list) is an example of one, it's a little complicated, and there are simpler examples online, but you can take ideas from his [gsettings.list](https://github.com/snwh/ubuntu-post-install/blob/master/data/gsettings.list) file and see how he changes the settings, and create a single script with the commands you want.

I fell in love with the terminal. Now I wanna know how to migrate and start using it regularly. How do I become proficient in the terminal
A good way for me to start 'learning terminal' was to write my own post-install shell script for the distro I'm using, Pop!_OS. There are tons of similar ones @ GitHub and alike but the ones I like and used for mine are these two: (1) and (2)

After dual booting Windows and Ubuntu for a long time, I've decided to completely switch to Ubuntu on my main laptop. Fresh install on my T460s. Ubuntu 20.10
Sorry for the delay! I've mainly hacked a bash script together after having to work on several different systems. You can go fancy, but I mainly just saved the installation steps in my own bash script, along with the apt install -y lines. It really helps, for example, when you're setting up a new system and wondering, "how do I install sublime text again?" Just put the ppa/key fetch steps in the script and be done with it.

Converting old Lenovo R60 era Laptop into terminal/text mode only linux utility machine
It is absolutely possible. Use Lynx for web browsing, use TMUX for split screen, use BC for calculator, use KHAL for calendar and of course use RTV for Reddit. :-) Here is a great list of CLI apps: https://github.com/agarrharr/awesome-cli-apps Here are some of my favorites though: - https://github.com/GothenburgBitFactory/timewarrior - https://github.com/IonicaBizau/idea - https://github.com/jeffkowalski/geeknote - https://github.com/insanum/sncli - https://github.com/visit1985/mdp - https://github.com/astefanutti/decktape - https://github.com/insanum/gcalcli - https://github.com/pimutils/khal - https://dianne.skoll.ca/projects/remind/ - https://github.com/zquestz/s - https://github.com/yudai/gotty - https://github.com/axiros/terminal_markdown_viewer - https://github.com/chubin/wttr.in - https://github.com/schachmat/wego - https://github.com/tldr-pages/tldr
