However, it can cost money if you choose to use RDS as your db but can be cheaper if you use DynamoDB which I have some sample codehere that shows using a local dynamodb for dev so you don’t get charged. DynamoDb is pay as you go rather than having a full RDS instance. However you could consider serverless rds as well which is pay as you go.
