Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Comparing Hobby PCB Vendors
There are other benefits: A PCB design can be shared so that others can fabricate it themselves. (Or modify it if they wish). A PCB design will likely have a schematic, too, which can be studied.
I'd also bet that PCB projects are more likely to inspire better PCB projects. -- Or at least, the domain I've tried my hand at has been PCBs for custom mechanical keyboards.
e.g. I've seen boards inspired by https://github.com/hsgw/plaid such as https://github.com/coseyfannitutti/discipline or https://github.com/rtitmuss/torn and I think there are several popular split keyboard designs which basically descend from https://github.com/MakotoKurauchi/helix

[IC/GB] Extra Torn Keyboard PCBs
I'm going to build the Torn ergo split keyboard but I don't need x5 PCBs, switch plates, and base plates. So I'm checking to see if others are interested in splitting the cost of the JLCPCB order. For clarity, I'm not looking to profit from this, just split the cost of the PCBs.

Any reccomendations for corne-like board with another key in thumb cluster? Also here is bongocat
https://github.com/rtitmuss/torn Seems to be all freely available including a build guide
- Have there been splits with an IC?

My Cantor build, designed by u/diepala
I would like to compare it to Torn

I just realized that my shoes match my keeb
For a true match, the keyboard should be a Torn

Here's my current family photo. A lil bit more mod then I'll be ENDGAME.
Also very much interested in this. I'm thinking about building a split keyboard myself and can't decide on which one to go for. I've considered so far: - redox: The layout looks thought through - sofle: Easy to build, because of the used microcontroller - torn: Is throughhole, huge plus for me since I could order pcb's and solder it myself, also looks good. the only thing I don't like about it, is that I need a number row and am not sure if I'll be able to add it to the schematic

something something blackpink

portable split keyboard?
I also have an ergodox ez, and want a smaller keyboard for carrying it to the office and on travels. I'll go for Torn (https://github.com/rtitmuss/torn) eventually, it will be available on splitkb.com Regarding tenting, it does have a slot to screw in a tripod like https://splitkb.com/products/manfrotto-pocket-tripod

What's a good option to connect a split kb while using only one RP2040
The original Ferris keayboard uses an I/O expander.

Semicolon to underscore trick
For minimizing awkward finger movements, I feel like a decent approach would be to borrow techniques from the tiny keyboard crowd make a multi-layered keyboard layout to minimize movement. e.g. some people have 34 key keyboards with multiple layers triggered in various ways to get the full range of input. (Some people go even further, e.g. to 16 keys).

[EU-FR] [H] Ferris Compact v0.2.1 fully equipped white PCB [W] Paypal, Revolut, Bizum, LeBonCoin
I have 3 equipped white PCBs for Ferris Compact v0.2.1. It's a 34-key ergo keyboard, for Kailh Choc switches.

Wireless split keyboard, non BLE
The base idea is something like this amazing keeb but with a more aggressive pinky row stagger like the ferris

I would be very interested in having a programmable ergo keyboard like the Ferris: https://github.com/pierrechevalier83/ferris

Have there been splits with an IC?
The ferris (not sweep) is a great example of a board with an integrated mcu. The big disadvantage is that the design is tied to a specific part and also will be less accessible for DIYers. In the case of the ferris, the chip that it uses has been almost impossible to find for the last year, which is one of the factors of the sweep's popularity over the ferris. https://github.com/pierrechevalier83/ferris
What are some alternatives?
