I use https://github.com/owtaylor/toolbox-vscode, then you can have the vscode frontend in flatpak and the backend (where language servers and compilers run) in a toolbox container

Could try my Sorun.me script.. built for Ubuntu Budgie and installs a lot of dev goodies (can be read in a basic yaml config file before installing) and yes consistent shortcuts from my meticulously built Kinto.sh app.

Apparently the creator of kinto.sh (the script to change shortcuts to be macOS-like) is working on a bigger script called sorun.me to make many things in Linux behave more like macOS. I'm not sure what's the extent, but I'll probably test that on Ubuntu Budgie too later.
