Is Go overkill for small personal projects?
I make a point of building all my small tools in Go. For example, I wanted something to automate installing my Gnome extensions, and as I was building this, I identified some other useful features and implemented those too.

Totally not! Go is great for small utilities. I also just recently made a really simple S3 utility using go to recursively delete versioned buckets. The thing I love about it is I can do a simple “go install” and it’s ready to use!
