not super critical but is there a terraform provider for proxmox? I looked at proxmox a while back when building my home server but went with esxi free because of the community provider - https://github.com/josenk/terraform-provider-esxi

Homelab with ESXi?
I've been using https://github.com/josenk/terraform-provider-esxi with the free version of esxi for a few months and it's not too bad. Doesn't have everything, but pretty functional.

Mainly using the R710, R410 to test Terraform, xServer for Docker
Terraform does what ever the provider has.You can literally use terraform anything. See https://github.com/josenk/terraform-provider-esxi this does SSH calls into ESXi to change some configs and then runs some ESXi commands.

Yes. With this plugin https://github.com/josenk/vagrant-vmware-esxi you can use ESXi as a back-end for Vagrant, an open source tool we use at work for spinning up virtual test environments.
