Help choosing a router to buy
If you want WiFi 6, the first OpenWRT router to support them is the Linksys E8450 / Belkin RT3200. So that's what I just replaced my WRT1900ACS with. You said you can't find the Belkin RT3200 - but look for the E8450 as it's the same thing. If you can find one - https://github.com/dangowrt/owrt-ubi-installer

Trying to install on Linksys E8450
Right, I think you've got the wrong image. This device needs to be repartitioned first, so you need an -installer- image. I strongly suggest you read through dangowrt's page to do some backups if you ever want to return to the stock firmware. Then, try this image from dangowrt's installer page .
