I build layouts with plain html and css when I want to relax. Am I weird?
Cool! My cards tend to be less complex. I have a lot of cool little projects like yours, but since most of them are related to my work and I don't know if I can share them, I've made a small selection (these aren't the best tho) (Source code). You can share more things if you want, I would like to see.

Nope, not at all. You should try tinkering around with Github Pages - I've really enjoyed working on my portfolio and Oahu guide which both use Jekyll/GH pages, and its nice to just get back to the basics.
