Fastify DX follows the same routing principles as Next.js and Remix. The first page is /pages/index.{js|ts} and other pages can be linked to by using solid-app-router. Dashboard would link to /pages/dashboard.{js|ts} and SolidJS Article would link to /pages/articles/[id].{js|ts}. SSR, Streaming etc. can be fine-tuned by exporting variables in the page. Check out the examples for streaming, SSR, etc. in the fastify dx starter kit
  • Routing with single page web application
    2 projects | /r/solidjs | 12 Jul 2022
Hello, I've recently created a single page web app with multiple routes. I'm using vercel for hosting and solid app router (https://github.com/solidjs/solid-app-router) for the router bit. When I go to my page on vercel and click on a link, for example, /help then reload the page it leads to 404 not found. If I go straight to that link it has the same error. In my dev environment it functions as I'd expect. After reloading it loads the help page. Is there a way to configure vercel to behave correctly?

Agree wrt. Solid being easier to reason about.

Is the router you are using solid-app-router [1] ? Have been working with it for last few months and it has been generally stable (my usecases are not particularly complex though).

The docs for the solidjs core has also massively improved recently.

With regards to third-party libraries, Solid does not have a lot yet, but it does have first-party libraries. Its first-party libraries are the equivalent of other popular libraries in other JavaScript libraries, such as Solid App Router for routing, Solid Testing Library for writing component tests, and Solid Transition Group for animations.

Hmm.. Remix is based around their router. And a nested router is what we need to for Solid (see Solid App Router https://github.com/solidjs/solid-app-router). I think the challenge is that we don't render like React. Not at all. I've found most cases where that assumption exists to be incompatible.

That being said the work has already started on a starter with Nested Routing/Automatic File Based Routing + Code Splitting/Parallelized Data Fetching/Streaming SSR/Multiple deployment adapters. We're given it the same focus on performance that we've given the rest of Solid.

  • Show HN: Million Lint – ESLint for Performance
    1 project | news.ycombinator.com | 29 Feb 2024
Hey HN! Founder of Million – We’re building a tool to that helps fix slow React code. Here is a quick demo: https://youtu.be/k-5jWgpRqlQ

Fixing web performance issues is hard. Every developer knows this experience: we insert console.log everywhere, catch some promising leads, but nothing happens before "time runs out." Eventually, the slow/buggy code never gets fixed, problems pile up on a backlog, and our end users are hurt.

We started Million to fix this. A VSCode extension that identifies slow code and suggests fixes (like ESLint, for performance!) The website is here: https://million.dev/blog/lint

I realized this was a problem when I tried to write an optimizing compiler for React in high school (src: https://github.com/aidenybai/million). It garnered a lot of interest (14K+ stars) and usage, but it didn't solve all user problems.

Traditionally, devtools either hinge on full static analysis OR runtime profiling. We found success in a mixture of the two with dynamic analysis. During compilation, we inject instrumentation where it's necessary. Here is an example:

      function App({ start }) {

    1 project | news.ycombinator.com | 10 Aug 2023
In brief: I'm Aiden, 18, and have spent the past 2 years of high school working on Million.js, an open source React alternative with 11K stars on GitHub and hundreds of thousands of npm downloads.

Recently, I released automatic mode, which detects slow React components and automatically optimizes the reconciliation phase. It's still in beta but chugging along. It's around 70% faster than React on the JS Framework Benchmark and you can see how I did it here: https://million.dev/blog/virtual-dom

  • What are your thoughts on Preact Signals? I've thoroughly enjoyed it but am now thinking of dropping it because it results in a fat stack of issues in the Next 13 server logs and because Dan Abramov himself advised against it. Nothing's broken, but it doesn't feel like it makes sense to use anymore
    1 project | /r/react | 5 Jul 2023
Either that or add signals to the library itself. I don't get why it isn't in there when a ton of React's competitors are either using signal-like behavior or forgoing the clearly-obsolete way React handles its VDOM. When a high schooler can create something to make the library faster, you know that the core team is either prioritizing the wrong things or someone managing React is too prideful to admit that a lot of what worked a decade ago doesn't work today.
