Alternative: Snippet Box

snippet-box is a program that I run on docker to hold small bits of code. It's no longer being updated, but... It doesn't really need to be. o_o All I'm asking of it to do is hold what essentially boils down to .txt files. Therefore, it not being updated anymore doesn't really affect me at all, so I've stuck with it

If you just are saving snippets, I like Snippet Box for that. Lets you save little snippets, organize via tags, and write documentation on things like commands, scripts, etc.

This project looks *really* interesting, but seems to be quite dead.

I'm a big fan of Bookstack, but for saving commands I use Snippet-Box.

If you want something easy to deploy, zero maintenance (almost) and with a tiny footprint I can't recommend PiGallery [1] enough. Also good mobile support.

I tried some of the fancy alternatives here suggested, but they insist in doing it their way. PiGallery just displays your folder structure as Albums, simple as that, whereas others like Photoprism keep ruminating in the background doing their AI, which I personally don't need.

Pair that with a good backup strategy with e.g. restic and you're ready to fly.

Also check out PiGallery for a more light weight solution https://github.com/bpatrik/pigallery2 (with less features of course, but it may work if you only want an online gallery)

If you're familiar with Docker, PiGallery2 would work perfectly for this.

I'd also consider Pigallery2. It's maybe not as powerful as Photoprism, but it is very fast, lighweight and integrates quite well with the exiting image metadata (keywords and faces). It's a web interface, but it works quite well on mobile and the search option is powerful.
