Show HN: I scraped 25M Shopify products to build a search engine
I'm biased, but I'd recommend exploring Typesense for search.
It's an open source alternative to Algolia + Pinecone and e-commerce is a very common use-case.

👋Would anyone be interested in working together on a Rust client library for Typesense (OSS alternative to Algolia / ElasticSearch)?
The idea is to provide a thin idiomatic wrapper around the Typesense REST API. The most involved part is the retry logic to detect if a node is down and retry the request on another node in the cluster, for high availability. For eg, here's the logic in the JS client. The rest of it is creating one class per API resource and adding appropriate methods.
What are some alternatives?
