Can’t import quantmod stock data when running R Shiny app from Docker container on Raspberry Pi
I found a shiny-server Docker container (hvalev/shiny-server-arm-docker) that works specifically for ARM devices such as the Raspberry Pi, and it works great for self hosting my app. The only issue is that the quantmod getSymbols function won’t pull any data. My first thought was that it’s not connecting to the internet to pull the data from Yahoo, but the Raspberry Pi is definitely connected to the Internet and I’m able to ping Google.com from the container’s command line.

Raspberry Pi Automatic Configuration
This isn't exactly what you asked for, but in my experimentation with prebaking images, I've had success with using this docker image to run scripts that had to be run from pis themselves without actually needing physical pis.
