Avoiding session replay attacks in Rails
So to get started, we need a demo app with a basic authentication system. I've created one that's available on GitHub. It just has sign up, login and logout mechanisms and should be easy to understand for anyone familiar with Rails. The code examples above were extracted from this demo app.

There is a known issue, at least I had issues with it: https://github.com/waiting-for-dev/devise-jwt/issues/235. This issue seems to be rails relevant, not devise-jwt

Something like https://github.com/waiting-for-dev/devise-jwt makes it fairly straight forward to implement auth with jwt through devise. Read the docs for the gem and you're 80% there.
