Photo restoration & upscaling
Actually that was my first thought to achieve my end goal. Unfortunately I'm using an old scanner (CanoScan Lide 90) that isn't supported by any working drivers. The only way I got it to work was to use "Scanner" - https://github.com/simon-knuth/scanner , the downside was for some odd reason, it only supports scanning to a maximum of 600 dpi.

When will Microsoft update the design of the Scan app?
The Scan app physically does not work on my computer (crashes on launch, every time), so I've found "Scanner" as a great alternative. It looks quite nice and more importantly, it does not crash on launch.
