rtl8192eu-linux-driver VS rtl8188eu

this driver = https://github.com/Mange/rtl8192eu-linux-driver easily works with ubuntu but alas not with debian

I did install this rtl8192eu-linux-driver program (GitHub link) in an attempt to fix things, this may have helped me connect for a bit in the first place/ provide me with the "Wifi Network" interface at the top right, though I'm not too sure.

So I did the steps as the driver repository suggests and it seems worked. :)

Ok I fixed it, install rtl8192eu driver (if thats what you are using, I'm using a tplink tl-wn823n) by following the guide on its github page here.

I did see a link to https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8188eu/tree/v5.2.2.4 that is supposed to be tidying the aircrack code but never tried it.

Drivers

Really, how can I know that the dongle is NOT shipped with a Realtek driver? In the last couple of years it's been the 3rd one with a Realtek chipset (TP-Link TL-WN725N w/ rtl8188eu) that causes complete system freeze (Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS on kernel 6.0.2). I've tried even the updated driver - still the same result!

There are three versions of this dongle, I have version 2 and I use the drivers from https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8188eu

There are some great GitHub repos for the rtl8188eu chipset such as the aircrack-ng's recommended driver or lwfinger's driver

I tried installing https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8188eu and https://github.com/aircrack-ng/rtl8188eus and none of the worked. The first one gave me access to internet connection, but the second one didn't even do that. Any driver for the TP-Link WN722N, that supports monitor mode?

So I'm trying other drives to see if that helps but this one in particular requires to have CONFIG_WIRELESS_EXT set in the Kernel configuration.
