Scripting with Go: A Modest Proposal
Take a look at Risor and its pipes capability.

Stay in the Go ecosystem, but gain pipes, Python-like f-strings, and more.

Risor – Fast and flexible scripting for Go developers and DevOps
All good questions. Risor hasn't really fully "launched" yet and its documentation is incomplete at this point.
GCP and Azure to be added in the coming weeks. Here's a related GitHub issue:
https://github.com/risor-io/risor/issues/65
For now, you can browse the available modules in the source tree here:

Please open an issue on GH if you have other module requests! MySQL is a logical one but I was waiting for someone to ask :-)

Zygomys: Embedded Scripting Language for Go
Nice. Somehow this is the first time I'm seeing Zygomys.
If you're not in love with the lisp syntax, you might want to take a look at Risor as well.

Solving the Expression Problem in Go
Not diminishing the article at all, there's massive value I've gained from leveraging this runtime solution in multiple projects: https://github.com/antonmedv/expr
The language is easy enough for people to pick-up.
- Expr Release v1.15
- Expr v1.14 release: Go expression language
- Expr – expression language with type checker
-
FireScroll - The config database to deploy everywhere (now with conditional statements!)
Uses the [expr](https://github.com/antonmedv/expr) language to achieve this and I've been super happy with the results.
-
Library to analyze an arbitrary JSON string
I have been using expr (https://github.com/antonmedv/expr) to do something like this for a while. no complains so far.
-
[gcalc] A simple calculater in golang
If you wanted it to not require putting in the operation first and just accept string equations (without using something like https://github.com/antonmedv/expr) you could parse, tokenize and then process the input.

What are some alternatives?
shtlang - A toy scripting dynamic imperative programming language.
govaluate - Arbitrary expression evaluation for golang
golisp - A Scheme-flavored Lisp implemented in Go.
cel-go - Fast, portable, non-Turing complete expression evaluation with gradual typing (Go)
zygomys - Zygo is a Lisp interpreter written in 100% Go. Central use case: dynamically compose Go struct trees in a zygo script, then invoke compiled Go functions on those trees. Makes Go reflection easy.
gval - Expression evaluation in golang
script - Making it easy to write shell-like scripts in Go
grule-rule-engine - Rule engine implementation in Golang
tengo - A fast script language for Go
stream - Package stream provides filters that can be chained together in a manner similar to Unix pipelines.
mosalat - a rule-engine with custom dsl for golang
