How can I clear old installations?
Revit addins are saved in a lot of locations, that's why I created this small script to disable them: https://github.com/infeeeee/revitAddinDisabler This program looks for them in all possible locations, and you can disable/enable them.

I also have Pyrevit and DiRoots, but haven't used Diroots as often as Pyrevit. One extension of Pyrevit I like using is EF Tools. https://github.com/ErikFrits/EF-Tools
