Combine that with React-Leaflet (https://react-leaflet.js.org/) for seamless React integration. You can find Pond/Lake GeoJSON data at https://gis.mass.gov/ and load it into your map to make it interactive. Good luck!

Leaflet has many official and third party plugins and wrappers. Since we’re using React, we can use React Leaflet which provides components for rendering Leaflet maps in React.

Do you need to just make an image that looks like a map, or do you need to make an actual map (i.e. derived from spatial data)? I think leaflet is still the go to OSS webmap library, and will do hexbins. It has a react version.

I wanted to update the react-leaflet version in my project. On the github and npm page for the package it says the latest version is 4.2 https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-leaflet. When I ran an npm update react-leaflet it updated the version from 3.0.1 to 3.2.5. Why isn't it 4.2?

Add .env to your .gitignore file to prevent it from being committed. Here's an example file with it already added. You may also use dotenv for advanced configuration and it will automatically load environment variables from a .env file into process.env.

Like Doppler, Infisical uses environment variable injection. Similar to the Dotenv package for Node, when used in Node, it injects them at run time into the process object of the running app so they're not readable by any other processes or users. They can still be revealed by a crash dump or logging, so that is a caveat to consider in your code and build scripts.

We'll be working with databases' ids and different info that should be secured so I would advise you to create a .env file to store said info. We'll do this by installing dotenv into our project and use it accordingly:
