rcx VS plex_debrid

RCX on android[0] gives a reasonable experience for pecking at files (Also handles media streaming reasonably well and supports the Crypt remote mentioned in the parent)

If you are using android there is RCX (https://github.com/x0b/rcx) as a frontend to rclone. Rclone can also be used in termux. Not sure about apple.

I've read a little about https://github.com/x0b/rcx and my main question now basically is, if somebody who use or have used it already could confirm the more or less "hassle free" access/managing of files from the cloud within that application.

the only rclone client on Android I am aware of is RCX (available in PlayStore as well).

You mean this - https://github.com/x0b/rcx ? The fact, that latest version is released at Jul 15, 2021 and it have 110 unsolved issues, doesn't sound very reliable, and unfortunately it can’t access GDrive anymore.

Maybe an app like RCX (google play link) would work?

And yeah, sure! It's a tool I found on github (https://github.com/itsToggle/plex_debrid), it lets you stream movies and shows via Plex in any quality you like. The github page has very detailed instructions so if you're interested take a look!

I just followed the tutorial (https://github.com/itsToggle/plex_debrid) step by step, the only thing I changed was the regex for the versions to prioritize HDR and DV content.

That’s the thing though, you don’t need it. I have 55tb in my server, but I recently found Plex-Debrid. It connects straight into Plex, your shows and movies appear just like any local ones, it syncs back to your Trakt collection, and it takes up absolutely no space. My storage is now 36% full compared to the 70%ish it was before. You can still download the ones you really want to have a copy of, but there’s really no need for it this way. Oh, and requesting is super easy. Go to the Discover section of Plex, search for your show, add it to your watchlist, and that’s it. Within about 30 seconds the entire show is in Plex and ready to watch.

You should look into https://github.com/itsToggle/plex_debrid which integrates real debrid into Plex Server without the need to do anything manual or downloading.
