race-control-tv VS plugin.video.f1tv

Hi, there is a third party Android/Fire TV client called F1 TV Viewer. It would be great if you could support this app. https://github.com/leonardoxh/race-control-tv

For me the official app works quite well when sideloaded but if you can't get it working I recommend this third party app https://github.com/leonardoxh/race-control-tv

I have both the official F1TV App and https://github.com/leonardoxh/race-control-tv on a FireTV Stick "Lite" and a "Google Chromecast with Google TV". I probably sideloaded both of them (via adb). Haven't used them since last season, but they were working back then.

There's one for Android TV, but none to run on your phone or tablet that I know of

This started happening on Android when they enabled DRM on the streams. Assuming you use a device with Android 12 or later, you can just use Race Control TV to fix the issue. With Android 11 or earlier, Race Control TV also stutters due to this issue, which can be fixed by a custom build of the the app and force-enabling the fix mentioned in the issue.

Other apps, such as https://github.com/NoahFetz/F1AppleTV, or https://github.com/leonardoxh/race-control-tv, have both been able to add DRM support with relatively minimal effort, since this was offered out-of-the-box on those platforms.

Though, there are already other Android (TV) 3rd-party apps out there (https://github.com/leonardoxh/race-control-tv), and people could probably build on top of them. I'm happy to assist/share information about anything!

Another option is to install Kodi, and add the community F1TV Plugin. Obviously this is a little more work though.

Install Kodi from the microsoft store and then install this https://github.com/bbsan2k/plugin.video.f1tv

Option 4 - Unofficial Kodi Add-On Another community app, made by u/bbsan2k. This add-on is currently under fast development to ensure it's updated for the new F1TV features, thanks to u/TheDevFreak. To take advantage of the new video feeds, it's recommended (and possibly required) to use Kodi 19 (Matrix). The add-on is available on GitHub - plugin.video.f1tv.

You can probably use my F1TV plugin on Matrix. There is a special version available (https://github.com/bbsan2k/plugin.video.f1tv/tree/Matrix_Support) for Matrix, but as I need to setup a separate repo for Matrix you cannot install it from a repo yet.
