Unstable and slow Realtek RTL8156B 2.5GbE USB-C dongle on vanilla F38
The network adapter performance is underwhelming and it keeps disconnecting every 2-3 min. It is connected in a usb-c port on a Thinkpad T480s. I found a post online from someone having this issue on Ubuntu. I tried adding the udev file rules for Realtek adapters mentionned in his post without success.
-
Prioritize one NIC over another with Talos?
Those udev rules came from this file: https://github.com/bb-qq/r8152/blob/master/50-usb-realtek-net.rules (lines 12 and 13, with 8 and 9 subbed in.)

2x2.5gb Networks Cards to 4x1gb Synology over SMB Multichannel 460+mb/sec
I saw a post from someone recently who used these USB adapters and this driver to add 2.5 Gbe capability to a DS1821+, though it should work with most current Synology devices.

DS918+ - stuck on 100Mbps on Lan 1 port. Is it possible to use the Lan 2 ethernet port by itself?
Thanks for the suggestion, I wasn't aware of this option. I have since found this page https://github.com/bb-qq/r8152 and as it's looking like the nic on my NAS is in distress I am looking into ordering a usb type-a CableCreation 2.5G Ethernet to USB Adapter for AU$30

220+ NIC Dynamic Link Aggregation for a non-Network guy
You will need to install additional drivers.

DSM 7.2 is out
Another way is to get a 2.5gbe usb adapter and plug it into the USB port on the Synology. There's some software on GitHub that will make this work. I opted to go with an official Synology card. I already have a relatively complex network set up. I don't want to chance a sudden incompatibility and lose a weekend trying to figure out what went wrong.
- How has your DSM 7.2 RC experience been so far?
- Is there 2.5gbe USB ethernet adapter that works with the DS923+?
- How to set USB 2.5GbE adapter as the default NIC on a DS920+?

What are best practices for using Docker with NVMe drives?
I’m assuming I want to make the NVMes as a storage pool instead of a cache? If so, I’m assuming I need to run this script?

DS 1522+ Nvme pools

I come to thee in search of knowledge. Well that and I'm getting my first Synology. How can I utilize some of the components from my OWC Mercury Pro DAS which has 4 - 2TB M.2 NVMe's into my 1821+?
You could try my https://github.com/007revad/Synology_enable_M2_volume script as well... or just update to DSM 7.2
-
DSM: Version: 7.2-64570 released!
Or if you want to use Synology brand NVMe drives just run Synology_enable_M2_volume

Two M2 drives in slot 2 (DS920) degraded within a week
First time using the M2 slots on my DS920. I bought two Crucial P3 500GB NVMe drives off Amazon: https://amzn.eu/d/cqpHrJI. I used the script here: https://github.com/007revad/Synology_enable_M2_volume that handles all the commands to set them up as a storage pool.
- DSM 7.2 is out
- Can I use an eSATA for a storage pool?
-
Create SSD Pool that has the combined size of both drives?
As you have DS2422+ which would be running DSM 7.1.1 you could have created the storage pool(s) and volume(s) all via storage manager if you'd run https://github.com/007revad/Synology_enable_M2_volume or https://github.com/007revad/Synology_HDD_db which would be the preferred option with a DS2422+

NVMe Health Info in DSM 7.2
I had forgotten that DSM 7.2 removed Health Info for non-Synology NVMe drives, as I can see Health Info for my WD NVMe drives in DSM 7.2 (which I assume is due to having run my Synology_enable_M2_volume script).
- DSM 7.2 NVMe Volume
