Unstable and slow Realtek RTL8156B 2.5GbE USB-C dongle on vanilla F38
The network adapter performance is underwhelming and it keeps disconnecting every 2-3 min. It is connected in a usb-c port on a Thinkpad T480s. I found a post online from someone having this issue on Ubuntu. I tried adding the udev file rules for Realtek adapters mentionned in his post without success.

Prioritize one NIC over another with Talos?
Those udev rules came from this file: https://github.com/bb-qq/r8152/blob/master/50-usb-realtek-net.rules (lines 12 and 13, with 8 and 9 subbed in.)

2x2.5gb Networks Cards to 4x1gb Synology over SMB Multichannel 460+mb/sec
I saw a post from someone recently who used these USB adapters and this driver to add 2.5 Gbe capability to a DS1821+, though it should work with most current Synology devices.

DS918+ - stuck on 100Mbps on Lan 1 port. Is it possible to use the Lan 2 ethernet port by itself?
Thanks for the suggestion, I wasn't aware of this option. I have since found this page https://github.com/bb-qq/r8152 and as it's looking like the nic on my NAS is in distress I am looking into ordering a usb type-a CableCreation 2.5G Ethernet to USB Adapter for AU$30

You will need to install additional drivers.

DSM 7.2 is out
Another way is to get a 2.5gbe usb adapter and plug it into the USB port on the Synology. There's some software on GitHub that will make this work. I opted to go with an official Synology card. I already have a relatively complex network set up. I don't want to chance a sudden incompatibility and lose a weekend trying to figure out what went wrong.
- How has your DSM 7.2 RC experience been so far?
- Is there 2.5gbe USB ethernet adapter that works with the DS923+?
- How to set USB 2.5GbE adapter as the default NIC on a DS920+?

Synology 1823xs NVMe Question
DSM won't let you create a storage pool on drives in a PCIe adapter card so for the NVMe drives in the E10M20-T1 I used my https://github.com/007revad/Synology_M2_volume script to create the storage pool.
-
Synology M2 volume v1.3.15 - Now supports RAID 6 and RAID 10
For more information and to download see: https://github.com/007revad/Synology_M2_volume
-
Specify apps to be installed on NVME (storage pool 2)
So I got my DS423+ and love the NAS and ecosystem so far!! I also have a WD RED SN700 unfortunately I at first could not create a storage pool out if it as Synology only supports their own NVME ssds. my WD RED SN700 with 2TB is cheaper than the Synology one which just has 400gb. Luckily I was able to create a storage pool on the WD using this https://github.com/007revad/Synology_M2_volume !!!

DSM 7.2 and 3rd Party RAM - Working?
DS916+, DS920+ and DS1522+ all working well with 3rd party RAM. Yes, it moans about it, but no issues. NVMe as a volume is also working on the DS920+ and DS1522+ (https://github.com/007revad/Synology_M2_volume) although I did have to recreate the volumes (I have always make sure I back them up with Hyper-Backup anyway).
- Best Windows settings when running on VMM? Avoid 100% HD activity.

Synology DSM 7.2 NVME RAID broken
Probably something like this but if the OP can't articulate what they did probably also didn't read the "Important" paragraph:
-
M.2 SSDs as Storage Pool in the DS923+
You will need to use the SSH scripts to turn up NVMe as a storage pool on 3rd party drives - https://github.com/007revad/Synology_M2_volume
-
Create SSD Pool that has the combined size of both drives?
You could have done it without all that typing by using https://github.com/007revad/Synology_M2_volume
-
DS920+ Problem with NVMe's as Storage Pool (Not Cache)
If you do end up having to wipe the drives and decide you want to try again, I’d recommend using this https://github.com/007revad/Synology_M2_volume it’s way easier than running all the commands yourself and super simple. It’s how I made my nvme pool and it worked great.
