what would be the most efficient way to wire a keyboard like this?
I'n making a new keyboard that has a similar key layout to the Pteron. (The 44 key version)
- faux fox keyboard (ffkb) - 5 or 6 column, low profile or MX, two types of encoders, and OLED/pimoroni trackball/3rd encoder support in the center

Dactyl Manuform layout vs Ortholinear
For portability I hand wired an pteron (https://github.com/FSund/pteron-keyboard) which offers you a choice of number of keys. I am quit happy with it.
-
barobord - low profile version with MBK Glows
Short questions: what are the differences to the https://github.com/FSund/pteron-keyboard ? Are there any advantages?
-
pteron 38 key - I have a serious keyboard obsession... It's a problem.
By the way, what you're looking for already exists (almost 60.keys) https://github.com/FSund/pteron-keyboard/blob/master/case/56key/switch-plate-square-holes.svg

My PCB/ case design for the Pteron56 :D (open source)
About a billion thanks to FSund for designing the Pteron (github.com/fsund/pteron-keyboard)

Notes: I think my ideal would be a Pteron56 in a high profile case with a seam so you can tent Will be using Colemak DH or similar Decent budget but would be nice to keep it around $200 if possible I have big hands

Keyboard Builders' Digest / Issue 8
Pteron56: u/Alexander's handwired build is based on FSund's design. Some new plates added to the project.

40s day is just a normal day. KeySeeBee running Keyberon, as usual.
I tested on https://github.com/TeXitoi/keyberon-f4/ first version (so with a unprogrammed num row) on june 2020. After a week I decided that was what I want.

Where should I start?

After cleaning you keyboard, it feels like new!
That's https://github.com/TeXitoi/keyberon-f4 a handwired keyboard with a 3D printed case (totally parametric), using a rust firmware on a WeAct MiniF4 dev board (STM32F401, USB-C).
-
ok one more mt3 but more colour and a little bit mixed
If you have some time to waste, you can try porting https://github.com/TeXitoi/keyberon-f4 should only be a few pin change away.

pteron 38 key - I have a serious keyboard obsession... It's a problem.
Interesting, the case design is similar to my https://github.com/TeXitoi/keyberon-f4
-
Super slim, handwired, wireless
I'd like to do a https://github.com/TeXitoi/keyberon-f4 with choc v1, but I'm afraid of all that.
-
Does anyone know the name of this keyboard?
https://github.com/TeXitoi/keyberon-f4 - very close to this.
-
UnSplit by Swiftrax
If you want the old version https://github.com/TeXitoi/keyberon-f4/tree/08acf6b4a8d7f0879735fceb9c578f596d8b3d3f

Budget way to build a keyboard
A unsplitted ergo, flat and fully parametric (number of row, cols, stagger, angle between the 2 halves...), using a cheap dev board with USB-C: https://github.com/TeXitoi/keyberon-f4
What are some alternatives?
lumberjack-keyboard - 5x12 ortholinear through-hole component keyboard PCB for standard 60% cases
redox-keyboard - Ergonomic split mechanical keyboard
pteron-pcb - A continuation of FSund's pteron-keyboard project. Feel free to contribute, or use these files to make your own! Kits and PCBs are also available through my facebook page.
qmk_firmware - Open-source keyboard firmware for Atmel AVR and Arm USB families
barobord
keyseebee - KeySeeBee is a split ergo keyboard. It is only 2 PCB (so the name) with (almost) only SMD components on it. It's only a keyboard, no LED, no display, nothing more than keys and USB.
