Is getting a working resin printer easier then FDM?
I have a Prusa MK3S, bought as an MK3 in 2018 and then upgraded. And build my own Prusa Bear (https://github.com/gregsaun/prusa_i3_bear_upgrade) which costed me more time getting it to work because I cheaped out on the stepper motors initially. But both printers is fire and forget for me. I print a lot, mostly PLA and PETG, sometimes ABS, without any problems.

Multi material and tool changers isn’t something many people use. As for just dual extrusion you can check this project https://github.com/dmitry-sorkin/K3D-VOSTOK it is an IDEX with two DD heads. Prusa MMU is another thing which comes to mind
