proot-distro VS tergent

I don't check the current versions of distributions every day. So if someone find that new release is available, an issue can be opened at https://github.com/termux/proot-distro/issues.

Is there any default password for priviliged user. I mean when i $ proot-distro login distro will bring shell "#". Do i need to create password using passwd? https://github.com/termux/proot-distro/discussions/309

VSCode CLI has a package built for Alpine Linux. Use proot-distro or (shameless plug) distroot (a startup script) to install Alpine Linux in Termux.

Folks who want a more traditional linux environment and libraries then what termux comes with might find proot-distro[1] to meet their needs. Basically it allows running an actual arm linux distro in a pseudo container created by (ab)using the ptrace syscall to emulate root privileges. This has a fairly big performance impact, but it works if you want to run arbitrary arm linix binaries.

I just installed proot-distro alpine and logged in with the said command. I want to add a user in it. I read proot-distro help in the termux but it mentions about how to log in as a specific user not about how to add a user. I have also checked termux wiki which says to add user useradd -U -m username but this also gave error. so does any one know how to add a user name in it. for example "john" is the user name i want to add so how do i do that?

It is a clickbait. The "root" permission in this video is called proot which is to install a Linux container in Termux. The programs runs in container would think they are running in a real Linux environment.

I wanted to try out tergent, but it seems that on my Pixel 5, everything related to the termux keystore just hangs, whether it is termux-keystore list, or the command suggested on the tergent README (/data/data/com.termux/files/usr/libexec/termux-api Keystore -e command generate -e alias ALIAS -e algorithm EC --ei purposes 12 --esa digests NONE,SHA-1,SHA-256,SHA-384,SHA-512 -e curve CURVE --ei validity VALIDITY), or ssh-keygen -D $PREFIX/lib/libtergent.so. The commands just sit there until I Ctrl-C them.
