I keep a daily log tracked in git. All of it public although some information is encrypted with my privatization tool (https://github.com/higgins/privatize).
The log itself is a simple org file but I parse and render it in html here so that I can share important event dates (eg: my wedding) with my family and friends.
Here is what I did yesterday:

When added to a git repo, it will automatically transparently encrypt/decrypt files you want privatized.
For example if you configured your repo to privatize the file `example.txt`, you could write:

I do have this example vault here on github and you can have a look at it. However it hasn't been updated since Nov last year and quite a few things in there are outdated. Will update it and add a video tutorial in a month or so.

I've really been into the idea of a personalized dashboard lately. Is building something like this feasible in Obsidian? Or should I be looking elsewhere?
It's possible. You may want check out this plugin: https://github.com/Rainbell129/Obsidian-Homepage. Personally, I find the most difficult part of setting up a dashboard in Obsidian is database management. I prefer to use Notion for that.
