It's slow because makepkg lints the PKGBUILD every time. You can use libmakepkg instead (cf. https://github.com/AladW/aurutils/blob/master/lib/aur-build--pkglist or https://github.com/eli-schwartz/dotfiles/blob/master/bin/mksrcinfo)
