Bluesky announces data federation for self hosters
https://github.com/bluesky-social/pds
And we're on Discord available to help self hosters run their own PDS:
-
Bluesky social network drops invite-only sign ups
Federation is up and running on the sandbox network: https://github.com/bluesky-social/pds
The Q1 timeline for public federation seems plausible.
-
Bluesky partners with Namecheap to power domains as usernames
They've launched the 'sandbox' which is the federated/decentralised dev/staging environment. So yes, you can run your own PDS (server) and have it federate with others, but it's still very much in development and 'here be dragons'

I think both nextcloud and seafile can do what you need. You can also check syncthings, unfortunately I did not do a guide about this one, but you should be able to find something on the internet.
