I changed the sprite myself using Paint.NET which is a free graphics program similar to the Paint that comes with Windows.

Why download from a different site, when you can get it directly from GitHub?

Unable to download Paint.Net
For some reason, when downloading through the installer offered on the website, I got the same error. Luckily for you and I, paint.net hosts their offline installers for the latest version on GitHub. On Windows 11, the x64 portable install and the MSI worked just fine, but the regular installer didn't.

Is the website dead?
In the meantime, you can download Paint.NET from GitHub: https://github.com/paintdotnet/release/releases

Paint.net 4.3
Paint.net 4.3 just came out and has shifted from .NET Framework 4.8 to .NET 5. I was wondering if this would make it possible to run through wine somehow? The portable installer doesn't seem to work, however the regular installer goes through to the point where it tries to install a windows update and asks you to restart the system, however when you do, it will continue to ask you to restart your system the next time you run the installer. Here's a link to the releases on the github repo, thanks for any help to get this working on linux in advance! https://github.com/paintdotnet/release/releases
- Paint.net 4.3 is now available

Throwback to the earliest of the GNOME Shell (GNOME 3) design iterations in 2008
I didn't know this but I found that there's a popular repo to un-uglify GIMP and make it more intuitive by transforming as much as possible into the Photoshop way: https://github.com/doctormo/GimpPs
