Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

LPT: When taking photos of evidence that you want to prove happened after a certain time, keep a recent newspaper or magazine handy.
Proving that something happened definitely before but not after a certain point in time is a bit more convoluted and will cost a little bit of crypto. Both of these methods can be combined to assert that your evidence occurred after a certain point in time and before a later point in time.

It's super useful for me. It enables me to store decentralised hashes of data for evidence purposes (e.g. https://github.com/ligi/SatoshiProof) and it provides some degree of privacy for when I purchase psychedelics. I think also we need to advance to a decentralised monetary policy, so that we can bypass governments and ensure that everyone has things like an unconditional, universal guaranteed income (e.g. https://github.com/wdbm/universal_kindness).
