Maybe try ShareDrop? It supports sending files to those on other networks too (click the + button in the top right corner), though I've never tried it myself.

I have had good experiences with both Sharedrop (https://www.sharedrop.io/) and Snapdrop (https://snapdrop.net/). While they don't benefit from the slickness of being integrated in iOS, they both try to emulate the experience as much as possible and transfer effectively.
